Já que ontem me dediquei a falar dum mero EP... toca lá a abordar o álbum que originou.


Observações sobre o álbum, videos/som, lyrics...

A seguir à banda "The Verve" ter terminado em 1999, os membros separaram-se e cada qual seguiu os seus objectivos. O vocalista da banda Richard Ashcroft, iniciou assim a sua carreira a solo ao bom estilo da britpop e da pop. Depois do EP "A Song For The Lovers", ainda no mesmo ano, em 2000, lançou o álbum "Alone With Everybody", um disco interessante e com vários momentos valiosos. É uma álbum de emoções acerca do desalento de perda de alguém, da frustração e ao mesmo tempo a tentar provar que se pode seguir em frente. Que se consegue encontrar o seu próprio "beat" da vida.
Obviamente que chamou a minha atençãona altura, e veio logo comigo o CD, para juntar ao "Urban Hymns" que tinha da ex-banda deste cantor.

Destaco a magnifica canção "A Song For The Lovers" talvez mesmo a sua melhor canção de sempre, tem grandiloquência q.b. num tema pop/rock em ritmo up-time, polvilhado com orquestra (mas esta já mereceu um post - ver mais aqui).
Também outras boas faixas como "Crazy World", "On A Beach", "Everybody" mas sobretudo as magnificas "Slow Was My Heart" e "You On My Mind In My Sleep".
Se há coisa que Richard Ashcroft sempre teve foi jeito para a escrita de canções. E este seu álbum de estreia, tem bons momentos.
